You might want to check the new website-proposal: http://easa.x42.at

creating the biggest gig ever?

1 day, 5 countries;
britain, france, germany, italy, USA

why are they doing it?

"we dont want peoples money, we want people to come and make a difference" says bob geldof

music men and women try to get everyone to come to protest at the G8 meeting (the gathering of the 8 leaders of the worlds richest 8 nations) in scotland to help erradicate world poverty
check out films, audio, and much links on BBC site

surely this is a massive logistical task, Scottish homes are being opened up, mosques, churches, community halls are all opening up to offer sleeping space for those coming to G8 protests
we will be going over to scotland with DISSENT, are there any of you invovled with the summers mobilisations, will any of you go to the free concerts, is this use of commercial popstars to try to raise awareness making any difference?

is the logistics of what will be the worlds largest gig not deserve architectural discussion?

an email or explanation about reasons for story being moved would be expected

Looking through all these materials and seeing on the TV public actions of people, I wonder and as the architecture could suppress desire to have the right voices. I for me as the inhabitant of the country where there is no right of public freedom, wild there are civilized people in the Western Europe which go on meetings and revolts. Though I accept this form of public expression as one of elements of democracy. I well remember an epoch of disorder of the USSR and the first years of independence of Belarus (1989-1994) when political revolt was last means to not die from famine. Revolt- this right to not lose the bread, instead of bread of others. It is necessary to revolt more likely against inflow of a labour and emigrants from the South, the East and the East Europe and to protect about the first turn the internal national interests. Probably theme of anti-aggressive architecture takes place.
The architect today should be very good and far-sighted politician to do architecture which will make a society tomorrow.
Precisely I do not know whether there are special researches of aggressive and anti-aggressive architecture. But I think to attributes of such architecture it is possible to tell much and to make even more.
