riba presidents medal 2008
About two years ago (I guess) I posted a link to the presidents medal website. The president’s medal is the RIBA competition for best student in the UK at 3rd year and 6th year level.

Here is the link to this year’s winners: www.presidentsmedals.com
it’s worth noting that the medal is not graded on a curve, ie this year’s 'winner' actually received a silver medal.

Anyway, I asked last time for any links to similar awards from other countries. I think it’s interesting to see the level and kind of work the establishment rates highly.

Best to you all.

Just an additional note for grading of the medals:
Bronze Medal is for the winner at 3rd year level - Part I
Silver Medal is for the winner at 6th year level - Part II
RIBA Gold Medal is awarded to the [outstanding] architects

And those are not only for schools in the UK, but any RIBA validated schools [some abroad].

I agree that'd be interesting to see if there are similar awards elsewhere.

Regards to all,

jovan.

I never knew it was like the Duke of Edinburgh!

To regain a bit of face I can add that the Serjeant award is for drawing - but that info is all under the 'prizes' tab, so I lose.
