Dear friends, It's only few hours that have pasted since the closing of this years SESAM006_Macedonia event. We have had nine super days in Macedonia. Since the arrival of our guests in Skopje and the trip in Krusevo our host town, through the four workshops we had, two lectures, the excursion in Ohrid - city of UNESCO and every day parties we had in our hotel up until the very end of the event that finished with a performans in the Krusevo town's center where we showed what've we been doing this past nine days. The fed back from the town's authorities and esspecially the people was great. They helped every workshop fullfill their programme and finally we ended up with great results. Brand new signs for the town, guides for it's history, architecture, nature in totally different approach, tracking paths, and viewpoints of interest and finally pavillion that will certify our presence in the town. We boosted it's morale... Those were the objectives of our organizing team. Thank you all that helped organize this event and you that participated. easa007 / greece / elefsina / city_index

EASA007 will be realized in Elefsina, a city near Athens. It is a maritime city of 40000 residents and it is characterized by its complexity. The strong history of the place, the development of the fields of production and services, as well as its natural topography is elements of its identity. Elefsina is a 3-layered city. The first layer relates to the ancient period. The 2nd layer relates to the industrial period, when Elefsina becomes an industrial center. Finally, the 3rd layer refers to the contemporary city. The new evolutions situate Elefsina into transition. Now the identity of the place is not clearly defined, but a series of facts suggests a new role for the city: Elefsina is a satellite city.

Elefsina consists of a system of layers and networks of information. It is a strategic space in which different flows, grids and structures interlink; a complex system of simultaneous relationships and events. Our proposal is to explore the interaction between the different layers. In a city that contains so many different data, we invite you to read, interpret, comment, act and create on this site. The rules of the game are to reinforce or ignore the given information through comments, also to add new. The aim will be to form an open and continuously redeveloped network of events, traces and proposals, a catalogue of options, a menu of movements and opportunities, all interlinked and organized as a city_index.
