Rägaschiarm Issue 3 is released! Time is changing so fast, that we must update you again! Just like in architecture and the rest of the world, time goes faster and faster, we are running out of time and tomorrow, everything has changed already! Also-we were able to find 15 more places to sleep for us, the 9 Organizers, and for 6 additional helpers (!) in the hostel and this has been keeping us very busy, because actually we even forgot about our own sleeping places:-). So, now we can relax again about this lack of sleeping-places and are ready to welcome 120 Easians to INCM009 in 3 weeks-to probly the biggest workshop ever!

Good news first: we found all NCs from each country exept Estonia and Iceland, which are still lost-PLS Help us to find Archi-Students from there! All countries are attending INCM009 exept 3 countries!

Bad News (but good to know): We received 130 applications and raised the total amount of places from 80 to 105! But still not everybody can come - we are really fucking sorry for that! BUT we are also happy for the big interest on the event-we ll make sure, that even if you cannot come, that you ll be able to get the INCMnews on here, directly from Liechtenstein and from the Swiss trip.

We decided to give the places first to all NCs, to future and former organizers and to bidding countrie, according to our defined quota. So there are no extraplaces for extra helpers nor guests at the moment.

WAITING LIST There is a waiting list (which has already 25 names on it), so if you realize that you can't come to INCM009, please let us know immediately!!! If you plan to leave early, be aware of the fact that there are persons who want to stay and help for the entire INCMevent (till Friday, 23OCT09)...

Show EASA spirit, cause we have lots of work to do, such as archive, homepage, revisions of the NC and EASA-Guide, a blog solution, media group that is creating a Newspaper for everyone, doing fotos and videos for documentation -so we need everyone of you!

PAYMENT DEADLINE is on 25SEPT09. We only accept full amounts/payments, so the transfer cost must be paid by you. We want one NC per Country to collect all the money from the Country and send us the total Amount per Country, after checking on your participants applications (if they are attending Swiss Trip or not) so you know how much to pay. Ireland Vs. Italy

Hey there,

Just to let everyone know, LOGGIA was finally finished yesterday! Kieran Donnellan stayed in Darfo as the final remaining tutor and got stuck in. A huge special thanks goes out to Vincenzo and every single person who helped out on the project, who fed us, who let us stay in their houses.............and who drank pints with us!

Photos will be posted as soon as Kieran gets back to Ireland.

MISSING COUNTRIES (11SEPT09) We havent heard anything from the following Countries: Albania, Croatia, Austria, Czech Republic, Estonia (lost), Iceland (lost), Malta, Moldavia, Montenegro, Slovakia

NCS: Please Contact us (organizer@incm009.li) and send your applications till Sunday the 13 th of September. If you want to come to INCM, you also need to send us your Poster till then. we really would like to have as many Countries as possible and PPL from all over Europe. hey there!42 days from now, you will enter the world of INCM009. Through snowstorms or sunshine - in october you can get anything here. By then, incredible artwork from all over europe will be ready to enrich the Kunstmuseum. A group of easians will be eager to show the strategy to get the easa-homepage done by the end of the INCM. Tonnes of essays will be written, some of them already published in a magazine. Loads of ideas of what easa is and where easa should go will be waiting to be discussed and presented.

IMPORTANT: Travelling home on Monday the 26th of October: Since some of you will be in Vals on Monday morning (Group 2), we want to remind you that you must at least count in 4-5 hours of Train/Bus to get to Zurich/Basel (CH) or Friedrichshafen (GER) Airport. Also since the Excursion is on Sunday, you might consider leaving on monday anyway, but try to book your flights in the Afternoon. also it wont make sence to book a flight to an airport with is not on our homepage (under transport), cause the train will just be costing as much as the amount you pay for a more expensive flight.

EASA and it context


I suppose in some ways this refers to two or three quite broad topics in that the major influences on how EASA interacts with its context are:

i] Firstly, the site chosen and what its kind of urban/rural environment is; as this changes every year it’s impossible to set any rules for this.

ii] Secondly, there is the issue of the theme and its relation to the context – how helpful/exact it should be.

iii] Finally, there are the workshops and how they interact with the area during and affect it after the event is over.

Due to the fact that the first two points relate to something that is discussed in depth about a future event at the INCM, I think it is hard to make any solid conclusions/comments about them, as this is really for the future organisers to decide. However if anyone has anything to say about them put it down.

With regards to the workshops and how they affect the event after the event is over I think that something that tutors of workshops should look at while submitting proposals for anything that is to be constructed is: can it last?

This question I think is of paramount importance to the event. Too many built workshops, that are in essence well thought out pieces of work or useful structures for the local environment, are let down by the fact that in the final detailing of the project/or the choice of material that they become totally useless in the long run and actually have to be demolished by the organisers in the weeks after the event.

I know that some of these restrictions are due to the fact that the correct materials or finishing treatments could not be obtained by the organisers, or that certain tutors didn’t or couldn’t provide accurate materials lists prior to the event due to the nature of their workshops. I suppose what I am asking is:

i] would it be worth cutting down the number of workshops in order to complete them to a standard that would last long enough for the community to decide if they are useful to them or not?

ii] can we simply not be expected to produce the required workmanship to finish products to the level required? Should it be up to the tutors to think about these kinds of issues before the event begins?

At any rate I suppose it is something that I would really like to get peoples feedback on.

Number of Participants/Tutors/Workshops


Seen as though this is more of an exact topic and considering people have already started to weigh in on it in the previous discussion I thought we could continue with it at the same time as a broader discussion topic.

Generally I agree with Luis and feel that obviously the smaller the event the better connection you feel with everyone there, hence greater bonds developing at INCMs. However obviously for the event it is necessary to have the required diversity of participant in age, outlook and experience. I do think though that 500 would be pushing the size too much. It would become too meandering and many people would fall through the cracks. This is something that i think should possibly be changed in the EASA guide come the INCM.
