hi everyone, for all those who have not recieved or answered my e-mail yet: we would like every country to send us some info about the selection of participants. we ask you to send us what method you use, what priorities you have in selecting participants, if you have any kind of competition or special application arrangements, if so, what they are, what theme you have, etc. We need this so that we can have a picture of HOW you do it, how different countries choose their priorities and topics, if they are in any way related to this year's theme common:place, etc. We would also use this info for our publications (if you have competitions, we may ask for the projects for publishing), eg. make a summary of all the ways EASA applications are managed, and so on. and please remember that the A3 portfolio we asked for (as part of the application) should be in a printable .pdf format! Best wishes, Eszter full story...

Hi everybody, whats the craic? Looking for some interesting precedents, would appreciate any tips. What to do with a large roofscape in an urban environment? in a city centre? We have been talking about how an outdoor music venue, overlooking a main thoroughfare or space, would suit a city like Dublin for example. We also discussed the NL Architects bookshop project with the basketball court, but are looking for something that caters for a larger mass of people. Any ideas appreciated full story...

people! the exhibition is over! and it has moved to sofia! i have printed ALL the posters of the whole exhibition, and sent them there. i hope it will move around a little bit on the balkan. besides that, i'm just happy that things are finishing now... flo_ch by the way: this is the last financial printing support we can give, and i hope it is going to be exploitet. the printing central on eth calculated us the private instead of students price, and i spent two days shouting at them and making assistants call for them to give it cheaper. so i really don't want to repeat it - especially as i didn't have any success. full story...
From the 10th to13th April, we held an exhibition about EASA, in our school, NTUAthens. ![]() Putting a lot of energy in the whole thing, we believe it was a big success! There was a photo exhibition, with material from the past ÅASAs (Switzerland, Lille, Denmark) and also, projections with movies from Lille (the famous Exyzt..), a video from Budapest, things from all around and during the first two days there was music set playing all day long… The expo was arranged to bring the easa spirit inside the walls of the school, the spirit of hand made, of fun and joy, of creation, it was even like a small workshop! People where stopping to take a look at the movies and then having a tour at the pictures, curious eyes all around, asking questions like when and how, discussing, bringing their friends… The interest was great, I think Easa is a much more known thing in our school now . The most difficult question probably being: what is easa after all? Well, yeah, how do you explain easa? Is it the 400 students, us, is it the place, the workshops, the parties? It ‘s all of these mixed together, with one more, most important ingredient: The easa spirit… We hope we managed to transmit a little bit of the magic, of the time we spend together every summer… Anyway, the reaction was great, Elefsina is on the way for 2007, I believe we‘ll have a lot of new people coming to Budapest this summer… Panos full story...

easa007 / greece / elefsina / city_index EASA007 will be realized in Elefsina, a city near Athens. It is a maritime city of 40000 residents and it is characterized by its complexity. The strong history of the place, the development of the fields of production and services, as well as its natural topography is elements of its identity. Elefsina is a 3-layered city. The first layer relates to the ancient period. The 2nd layer relates to the industrial period, when Elefsina becomes an industrial center. Finally, the 3rd layer refers to the contemporary city. The new evolutions situate Elefsina into transition. Now the identity of the place is not clearly defined, but a series of facts suggests a new role for the city: Elefsina is a satellite city. ![]() Elefsina consists of a system of layers and networks of information. It is a strategic space in which different flows, grids and structures interlink; a complex system of simultaneous relationships and events. Our proposal is to explore the interaction between the different layers. In a city that contains so many different data, we invite you to read, interpret, comment, act and create on this site. The rules of the game are to reinforce or ignore the given information through comments, also to add new. The aim will be to form an open and continuously redeveloped network of events, traces and proposals, a catalogue of options, a menu of movements and opportunities, all interlinked and organized as a city_index. ![]() full story...
