we get too many requests for extra places. dear people, as long as you haven't even sent applications for the quota, it's completely useless to ask at all! the system is so clear and simple, and we are not going to change it. applications go through nc's, that's it. we don't answer to any requests for extra places anymore as it starts to 'steal' one hour of our daily working time, and after some time it gets on ones nerves. nc's, please find a good way to communicate you decisions for the participants you choose, and make an effort to ask for extra places also for people that are NOT your friends. this goes especially to russia from where we constantly get complaints! so katja and inara, please do something about it. for all extra places: you can apply the given number of the quota list, and as soon as you get a confirmation, you ask for extra places. nothing else. and don't worry too much, there will be enough places for everybody at the end, i guess. and for all participants: whatever you try, you will not be able to avoid your nc's for an application. it might sound very disappointing, but we have more important things to take care of than collecting individual applications from 40 different countries. if you ask for a place, don't forget that you are not the only one, but it is about a network that is in contact to a couple of thousand students. so if we start to accept individual applications from one side, where should we start to draw a line? so we will be consequent about that. sorry to be so rough, but it seems to be necessary! cheers flo_ch full story...
Hello! Did you receive submissions from belarusian students in my letter? full story...
please send all workshop mail to workshop (at) easa005.ch without s (not workshops) cause we have a big spam problem on this mailbox. don't worry, e-mails sent so far have been checked and are registered. the workshops mailbox will not be deleted, so if someone sends his mail there by mistake, we notice it. but if possible, please send it to the new adress. thanks flo full story...
dear all - there have STILL been some complications about the tutorpack. i thought i had solved the problem, but with every website update, the old one was online again. now, the problem is definitely solved, so if you'd please download the latest version! the most important news in there: some "suggested core outputs" that are supposed to give you an idea of the outcome your workshop might have, of the range we imagine and of the directions we'd like to be treated most concerning our wide theme. the website has experienced another small update. you find a new "financial/support" section. some competition info (with a few pics that might work for montages - though it was very difficult to find an appropriate place for taking pics...) and other details have been added too. so far, we have 11 participants, 2 competition entries and 3 workshop proposals from you. we want more :-) ciao flo_ch full story...
Dear NCs As some of you might have seen on the blog, I was sending out a call for essays. We would like very much to include your contributions before and during easa. In a way I think I might already start to get on your nerves – but it’s necessary :-) so if you have anything to tell us: send it to "essays (at) easa005.ch". The mailbox shouldn't stay empty, otherwise i'm afraid we'll have to put off our nice event until i find something there :-D The following letter by Ben who is taking care of the theme together with Cordula (tutorpack authors...) aims at the same direction. It’s about how we can get you started there on EASA. To really make you bring something, we give you an idea for the competition you might have to organise to select your participants. So he writes: Dear NCs To have a good basis for both the discussions and the publication, we would like each country to prepare a contribution before EASA starts. It should, in a short and concentrated way (lecture of max. 15 min), deal with a certain aspect of transit/transition in the according country and thus give an impression of the current condition in that country. These contributions, put as little intermezzos inbetween different lectures or evenly distributed throughout the two weeks, will trigger discussions and direct them into a more constructive direction. In written form, they will add very much to the international impact of the EASA publication. All Forms of presentation are thinkable, of course. It does not have to be the classic front-beamer-presentation (but can also be a discussion or a theatre-play). Whatever seems most suitable according to the theme can be done during the 15 minutes. This contribution could also be used for selecting participants, especially in countries with too many applicants. Please send us a short thematic description of your country’s contribution one month before EASA starts, so we can place them into the final program. Yours Ben Or isn’t it interesting to present the transitional situation of your country from your own point of view between Winy Maas and Kees Christiaanse??? If you wonder where to find enough participants, we have the answer ready. There will be a poster available on the website from tomorrow morning, printable on A3, to hang it as an announcement all over your country in all the architecture faculties :-) In general, I will update the website until tomorrow, some parts get a bit more clear and focused, and new parts (even in a new color) are available. It’s mostly about practical stuff, but as we have a few first applications from Georgia already, maybe we should hurry up a bit… So you’ll find everything about payment details and how your millionaire uncle and cultural institutions of your countries can help us with their money. So check out the website and get ready for a hot summer! I can only repeat myself: I’m looking so much forward to having you all here soon!!! Flo_CH full story...
i want to repeat the call for essays, to make sure it doesn't get lost as the storey has already disappeared among the older ones... if you feel like writing an essay on an aspect of "trans - transit - transition" that is important to you, contact theme (at) easa005.ch for further questions. as stated last week, we'd like to send out 3-4 bulletins with texts from in- and outside easa, further information about the location and much more... we'd be too happy to get your contributions. dear nc's, please spread it around! thank you very much!!! flo_ch full story...
i mean, it's just nice, this bloody bergün! check the pictures, and don't worry: in august, there will not be any snow left! first our aspirations: a view from the top storey of the kurhaus down the valley: trying to find the pavilion's foundation in the snow: inside the kurhaus. be kind and wash your hands before the dinner :-D and that's the thing we can't get enough of: ciao flo_ch full story...
