dear all, after i left easa006.hu i spend some weeks in croatia and a night in slovenia, but now i finally arrived home in dutchia. when normal life is slowly being reintegrated in my system, i remembered some things we discussed on the last nc-meeting in budapest, and i should post on the blog here. 1. website/blog as we were discussing the potential improvements on our sweet easa.tk website + blog, there is the website of the cousin organisation (european geography association) that could be an example for our easa website, egea.geog.uu.nl. the design might not be to your preference, but the underlying stucture seems to work quite nice. it is quite vivid and organized by regions, cities etc in europe, with shoutboxes, calendars, forums, personal websites, a mailsystem etc etc. it is hosted in utrecht,NL and i might have a connection to the guys who run it, if requiered. 2. flightlab request we are working on the flightlab project, the research project on the role of airports in europe, and for this we need your help! i would like to ask for your co-operation for information on your local airports, as written here. it would be great if you could read and contribute!!! if any questions, please contact me, or leave a comment. so far i already received info from russia (thnx inara) and germany (thnx ivonne) 3. third thing i remember there was a third thing i was supposed to post, but i forgot what it was. please, is there someone who remembers? jim, marko? jelk ps: it was great to see you all in budapest and afterwards in croatia, slovenia, and delft ;-) ps2: i have a few pictures which i will publish soon on my website/flickr full story...
Dear Arpad, Sandor, Judit, Eszter, Gabor, Zsofia, Balazs Firstly, and most importantly A BIG THANKYOU for making EASA on a ship(s). You made an unlikely event happen, one which is already becoming a part of EASA legend like EASA on a train, 1997. Surely only few participants will have and will ever spend two weeks living on a ship in such a [common] space – BANG in the centre of a capital city! First time participants are rightly inspired by their initial EASA experience (judging by the weblog) while those who attended last year; Bergun in Switzerland were faced with the challenge of inventively using a ships space (after having had only mountains to envelope us!). I’d like to raise my view that these spatial restraints and the changing weather developed problems, rather than a lack of planning or ability to respond by the organising team. Illustrated by;
Generally speaking I think the theme of Common Space was experienced intensely in our daily lives while some workshops felt constrained in exploring the theme more fully. The overall results were great, as seen in the workshops final presentation and the personal relationships made (maybe Dr Love can help with detail here?). As Adam rightly states, organising EASA events can be a thankless task. Sometimes it seems to be human nature to point out problems / difficulties etc. rather than to congratulate those things which go smoothly. I think no participant is ever fully aware of the problems & people overcome by the organising team when creating two weeks of 350 peoples lives…. until THEY CHOOSE TO HOST easa THEMSELVES!?! I look forward to hearing future proposals in Moscow.. As those who know me will know, I could go on, but I’ll leave it there! “Three cheers.. hip hip, hip hop we don’t stop……:-) Jim xxx UK full story...

This is an overdue thank you to ALL the organisers. There has been much said of the problems that arose while during the two weeks, and rightly so because we all want things to be as perfect as possible. But i don't want to dwell on these things here. Many people took time out to say personal 'thank you's to the organisers, but i thought it would be nice to put a thread on here to have some thing a bit more tangible and permanent. My thoughts are these, I remember two things about the organisers, first, very very nervous and tense people in orange waiting for the next thing to go wrong or the next complaint to come their way. But also people who, when you talked to them about, I don't know, the weather, were friendly and would bend over backwards to provide whatever help (or mothering) you needed. This was my first easa, as it was for many other people, and I have no comparisons I can make, but what I do know is these were the best two weeks of my life, and a large part of that was the efforts put in by the organisers. I also know plenty of them were still working hard in the weeks that most of us have been just trying to integrate back in to wider society. Thank you thank you thank you. Greece, you have a lot to live up to. And I cant wait to get there :) full story...

Hi you'all, first, thanks everybody for making easa a great experience once again. And a grand salut to the organisers, despite all the troubles they pulled it of to do easa in the hart of budapest, on the danube on two boats. another easa first i guess? anyway, there is another vid online, the LED attack video: video.google.com so check it out if you want. and if you have some photos about the workshop (and a flickr account), please place them under the led attack group: www.flickr.com anyway enjoy... best edwin full story... after complete relaxation of all the croatian team on the beaches of the island of vis, coming back to civilazation and internet zone and seeing all this on the blog,....ahhhhh,.....nostalgia.. it was never this vivid before.. being the dinasours (me and ana), and experiencing fifth easa we can only say...woooohoooo,.. it was great...inspite all the organisation problems (we are preparing for the BIG nc meeting in moscow) parties seemed to be the only thing that was completly succesfull, and more than that... we missed the last party, so please inform us that it was boring and short :) .... and big hug too all that we forgot to say bye bye..we were pretty drunk and sad... as the cro team is scattered along the coast now, we will collect the pictures and flickr them when getting all back in zagreb..soooon... venice issue- we are definetly into it, just after september cause exams exams exams... and we are not only easa addicted, but having nightmares of the kassa on fire..:) as being the dancers in the video here are the adresses: ivan dorotic prilaz gjure dezelica 75 10000 zagreb ana ascic bosiljevska 40 10000 zagreb rune we are waiting (and as in croatia there are still horses with carriages carrying mail, please send them now so we get them in this year...) and we are your friends.. hugs party animals ana & ivan cro (dk wannabes) full story...
Helløøv sweet people... Came home two days ago in a very, very good mood. What a trip. I'm still completely filled up with all the impressions and experiences... feels like I've still got one leg aboard the boats. Also so nice to see this blog more active than ever... lots of new people posting. Hope you keep on. BUT As you might have noticed: this place gets very confusing with so many people starting new stories of their own - instead of making a comment to an already existing story. SO I'll try to gather all easa flickr-people here... please add to the list, also if it's not on flickr. Could be so nice to have all links to pics in one thread... Here we go: Me first: www.flickr.com Tina: www.flickr.com Unstoppable david: www.flickr.com Edwin: www.flickr.com Paolina: www.flickr.com Jovan - pics from easa and incm 2005: www.flickr.com Libo - pics from easa in turkey 2001: www.flickr.com Jelk (any easa stuff here at all?): www.flickr.com Some of these links are already here on the blog - just trying to clean up a bit. Some I've forgotten. And some I don't know about. So please add more :) And hope you'll keep on putting pics of projects and whatever on flickr and commenting on whatever on this blog - Cheers... full story... |
