Salutations Coffee aficionados of Europe! As you may have heard a good coffee is quite rare and even if you find it - quite expensive - in this little tea-drinking island (No.1 in the world for consumption baby! who needs the olympics or the eurovision for that matter!) We have procured a super-dooper coffee machine and lots of lovely fresh coffee beans from illy Ireland for our Letterfrack bar. You will have to pay for your morning espresso/latte/cappucino however the prices will be uber-dooper-competitive. Sleepmonster, Sándor, Dade and yours truly have undergone a grueling several hours training course and have recently graduated as international top-class baristas - we shall be training our minion army of coffee makers to provide with you with the bitter sweet caffeine kick you will need for those fuzzy-mouthed bleary-eyed mornings. Henceforth excuses for not getting up in the morning and attending will not be accepted by your delightful organisers! full story...

Hello everyone! I'm writing to you all to WARN you that Letterfrack is home to a very healthy population of mosquitos, or more accurately midgies, which exist there in ridiculous numbers. When there is no wind and no sunshine they are at their worst...so pray for sunny windy weather! There is very little we can do to solve this problem so we are strongly advising people make preparations to protect themselves. Therefore everyone who wishes to sleep peacefully should bring mosquito nets and insect repellent. The local people recommend Avon's 'Skin So Soft' product, a moisturiser which coincidentally acts as a repellent, so try and source some of this before you arrive in Ireland. We will have a limited amount for sale at the Info Point during the event. We will do our best to prevent these insects from accessing the sleeping accommodation but this is nearly impossible so we would encourage everyone to bring their own mosquito nets. These insects have the potential to seriously upset sleep and workshops so please come prepared. Could all NC's ensure that this message has been received by all their participants. See you all soon in midge-free Dublin! Seán full story...

Just a thought for the organisers of EASA009. It would be really great if the Italian team managed to bring an external hard drive (500GB) with them to EASA Ireland. This way you can load up on all our documents and excel files. Believe me when I say this will save you and the past organisers a lot of email traffic. See you all soon, Paddy full story...
stupid, i know, but does letterfrack have an atm that us foreigners can use as well? thanks, j. full story...
I found a story relating to living conditions in the mighty Ireland. (readers of environmental graffiti or indeed digg.com may well have spotted it all ready). It's totally (mildly) inappropriate for the blog (the name is in the link)... so here it is: I thought it might be nice if we blogged any stories we stumble upon related to Ireland in the few weeks running up to the event. A way of adding a bit of colour to our understanding of the place, while also satiating my desire to get there I suppose. (22 days) full story... Next page |
