Hello all...

Since I'll be doing a bit of travelling the next month I'd like to share my plans with our little community so I could have a beer and perhaps some advise along the way...

the 18. sept. I'll land in Zagreb only to leave again imediately... which means I will be in Belgrade the 19. and 20. - unfortunately probably pretty busy at daytime but evenings of and I would really like to see some of you lovely people there... Then we'll be in Sarajevo the 22. and 23. - if somebody there would take me to a nice bar I would be very happy... And then, luckily, we come back to Zagreb the 25. 26. (all day off) 27. and fly away again tuesday 28... unfortunately I've lost all my Croatian emails - so Jure, Ivona, Ivan, Ana... if you see this please get in touch so I can meet you in your beautifull city... :)))

And then from the 3. to the 10. of october I'll be with my class on a study tour in wonderful Prague...so, if there's any of you EASA-czechs who'll have time to show us where the best beer is served that would be supernice...

As we are now in our last week for preparations of this years EASA, i first of all hope for the French Guys that all the rest works out fine for them and that there will be as little problems as possible for them ! In my own Mission i'd like to declare that this Year should see EASA fully equipped with WLAN / WiFi, so everybody in possesion of a laptop with WLAN / WiFi -equipment should be advised to bring it along , but especially if you do , PLEASE update your Computer with the latest Windows-Updates and the latest possible Virus-Checks .. If any questions occur in this matter just mail me at : jo_do@gmx.de and I'll be glad to be of help

just please bear in mind that any virus that you carry on your own computer actually can destroy others people data and / or seriously slow down network performance ...

Dear NC’s:

We are some Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot students who study architecture in and abroad Cyprus. As we started to get together under easacyprus, we are aiming to represent Cyprus to EASA and create another bicommunal meeting point for both communities (Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots) on Island. Even reunification of island failed on referenda on 24th of April 2004, we believe that we are not far away from a solution that will make peace and the reunification of Cyprus.

Hopefully we will go on fighting together as Cypriots to find the most appropriate solution for both communities. As students and young architects we want to offer our contribution for the reunification of Cyprus. This is why we want to represent Cyprus together on EASA. Especially the most important point is to start sharing our ideas and visions together in this kind of organizations and create corporations between each other and also increase the trustiness and reconfirm the willing of living together.

As we said before that we started to get together under easacyprus, we are not that much people now because we are busy with our graduation projects. It isn’t that easy also to put many people together and start to discuss something else in very short time. Anyway, we ll try our best to do so.

As Cyprus is not represented on EASA, we would like to participate this summer first time together in Lille and create the first step for us. We are ready to pay our participation fees, besides we are asking you to create some space for us at least for five people this time.

(media lab europe has set up recently in dublin, ireland- this has come from MIT`s media lab in the US. interesting stuff is going on here, 1 thing - the DATA (dublin art and technology association )group: open network, all welcome, free, people come share ideas, play, discuss............. www.medialabeurope.org this is one of their many Research group- Human Connectedness)

any EASA heads on for trying to have a webconforence of sorts, just as an experiment in shared space- your there, were here, together were in a strange shared space.... 10 years time, most school kids will be doing this

new process project @ WSFjanuary04- an EASA experiment?

more interaction and communication between EASA and other groups will lead to us all learning more from each other, having more fun, and ultimately improving the architectural state of society and the planet. proposal= global indymedia webconference project of the world social forum which is happening in january in mumbai in india. setting up new architectural spaces: local node is part of global interactive network

social forum and indymedia are the 2 major, open, non hierarchial processes which are changing the world in a fundamentally new way. it is possible for the 150 or so already existing indymedia nodes to work on a global project together, whereby live webstreams can be set up so that those of us who want to go to mumbai but physically cant, can still participate in the process; we come together in the virtual world as one interconnected network. using the real and the virtual together there have been 2 previous world social forums over the last 3 years, both in porto alegro in brazil the upcoming WSF is on 16- 21st of january

3000 years ago philosophers and other people interested in life came together in the agora in athens, from that western civilisation developed. the next step in world history is happening, it is the network age

it is the most exciting time to be invovled in art, architecture, politics, culture
