Do you remember last summer, the irish violin and drum, the rumanian flute and the hidden one, the french "bamba" guitar and the other one...?? Is some of you who plays music? what kind of music, instrument? Just for the next summer, maybe an "easa big band"... full story...
on Sunday the 9th of December 2003 a piece of land art was done on the beach of Lahinch in county Clare, Ireland. It was done by 4 people for a few different reasons.
most of us are familiar with PI (3.14.........) but few of us are familiar with PHI Φ(1.618...........) its the number which makes up the "golden section" in art and architecture. its supposedly the most perfect proportion it has been used for thousands of years by artists and architects. it also appears throughout much of science what do you think? it took 2 and a half years for this event to happen doing the wall in the "samogar art gallery" was great too full story, more pix and commentry on indymedia ireland when your on that beach, its the edge of europe. next stop is new york @ 3000 miles full story... hu, no new posts today - how boring... so then I'll just make my own, and start a new topic - "software & www". Here you could suitably post tips like this one. And if it's to little to do with EASA then kick my ass. But I think it'd be for the benefit of all of us. The reason for all of this is that I have resently discovered a wonderfull little 3d modelling program: wings3d. And I have never learnt a program so fast. It's amazingly easy and fun to use and ...tada... free. You can download it at: www.wings3d.com - remember to get a user manual as well. It works for both mac & pc and exports in fx 3dmax It's using subdivisions and not boleans. So it doesn't recognise massive volumes. Only surfaces. So often not so usefull for real architecture. But could be great for sketching and object design. Hope some of you will check it out that's it Adam full story...

There were reps from 23 schools of architecture present, from around the country- from Brighton to Plymouth to Cardiff to Dundee. The purpose of the Forum was to discuss the future form of Architectural Education, with the ultimate aim of producing a coherent set of proposals formulated by the reps, for publication and discussion by the profession. Speakers included Kate Heron (Head of School at Westminster and Chair of SCHOSA), John Lyall (Compiler of the RIBA guide ‘Tomorrow’s Architect’) and Jeremy Till, who gave a personal viewpoint on how architects should be educated. In addition we had a presentation from EASA, the European Architecture Students’ Assembly. full story...

new process project @ WSFjanuary04- an EASA experiment? more interaction and communication between EASA and other groups will lead to us all learning more from each other, having more fun, and ultimately improving the architectural state of society and the planet.
social forum and indymedia are the 2 major, open, non hierarchial processes which are changing the world in a fundamentally new way. it is possible for the 150 or so already existing indymedia nodes to work on a global project together, whereby live webstreams can be set up so that those of us who want to go to mumbai but physically cant, can still participate in the process; we come together in the virtual world as one interconnected network. using the real and the virtual together there have been 2 previous world social forums over the last 3 years, both in porto alegro in brazil the upcoming WSF is on 16- 21st of january 3000 years ago philosophers and other people interested in life came together in the agora in athens, from that western civilisation developed. the next step in world history is happening, it is the network age it is the most exciting time to be invovled in art, architecture, politics, culture i hope this proposal generates some architectural debate amongst us this story was originally posted here (the images are of our home:planet earth, indymedia website, indymedia centre @ genova during G8 2001 and an EASA screening @ berlin INCM 2001, and my virtual image on easa website with FUSPEY written alongside) full story...
